The Next Generation Manufacturing Study (NGM Study) defines the strategies necessary for world-class performance and success into the next generation.
A key first step in any manufacturing improvement initiative is to benchmark performances—and the NGM Study provides these benchmarks. More than 3,300 U.S. manufacturers of all sizes, representing virtually every industry, responded to the 2009 and 2011 national research efforts. The results from these studies establish a “scorecard” for U.S. manufacturers.
The Next Generation Manufacturing Study was coordinated by the American Small Manufacturers Coalition (an association of Manufacturing Extension Partnership centers and partners); conducted by the Manufacturing Performance Institute (MPI); and actively supported by Manufacturing Extension Partnership centers and partnering organizations.
